Every Imagine 2950RL is equipped with amenities you’d expect to see in the highest-end Class A motorhomes. Travelers enjoy LED lighting with motion sensors, hand-rubbed maple cabinet doors, drilled and screwed cabinetry, a free-standing dinette, premium Beauflor flooring (with 7-year warranty), residential window treatments, solid surface LG countertops, a MaxxAir vent with rain sensor, under-mount kitchen sink and a long list of additional features that you’d expect to see in a top-end brick-and-mortar home instead of an RV.

The 2950 Floorplan

The Imagine 2950RL is a spacious floorplan, one you’ll be comfortable in for the long haul. Equipped with a well-appointed kitchen and living area, you’ll feel right at home. The bathroom and bedroom aren’t short on comforts either.

The Tips You Need to Experience the Joy of Ice Fishing

Ice fishing season is coming up soon in North Dakota. RV travel isn’t just reserved for the summer months. In fact, winter activities are made even more enjoyable with the RV lifestyle. Ice fishing is one of those activities. Once you learn the basics of ice fishing, the sport will quickly become one of your favorite features of winter. The following simple ice fishing tips will help you get started, so you can enjoy the RV lifestyle even when the weather is cold and the lakes are frozen.

The Movement of Fish

One of the most important parts of ice fishing is understanding where fish will be and when. In shallow lakes, fish tend to move shallower later in the season. In larger, deeper lakes, fish migrate to where food and cover can be found. They tend to stay deeper where the water is warmer. Fish become less active in the heart of winter, which means they’re easier to catch when they’re moving at the beginning and end of the season.

Start with Smaller Lakes

Starting with smaller lakes at the beginning of season will help you fish more often, and ultimately become a better ice fisherman. Smaller lakes freeze more quickly, which means you can be on the ice earlier in winter.

Later in the season, move to the larger lakes, which have more oxygen. Fish are more active there.

Use Live Bait

Live bait is an essential part of ice fishing. Whether you’re dead sticking, using a bobber or jigging, live bait is the most effective way to fish. Start by jigging larger lures roughly a foot above the bottom to catch the more aggressive fish. If the fish can be seen but not caught, opt for a smaller jig.

Ice Fish with Your RV from Capital RV Center

An RV from Capital RV Center, whether it’s a motorhome or travel trailer, is an ideal way to travel from one ice fishing destination to another. Enjoy the comfort and convenience of a hot shower, comfortable seating area, television and plenty of sleeping space after a long day on the ice.

Fall Foliage Destinations in North Dakota

North Dakota doesn’t get enough credit as a fall foliage destination. If you live here in North Dakota, we don’t have to convince you of the truth in that statement. For those visiting or thinking about visiting, you’re in for a treat if you’re hoping to view some fall colors.

While there are plenty of places to view fall foliage in North Dakota, even along any stretch of interstate, there are certain locations that offer that little bit extra. In no particular order, here are a few stunning places in North Dakota to view the colorful fall foliage.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Named after the 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt National Park has a personal connection to Teddy. It was in North Dakota, and the area that’s now the park, that Roosevelt first found his love for the outdoors. It’s this area, in part, that prompted him to found the National Parks later in his life while he was President. Perhaps it was because of the fall foliage that he must have observed at some point during his stay. This National Park is located in the rugged North Dakota Badlands and features beautiful fall displays that are only enhanced by the ruggedness.

Turtle River State Park

Located in northeast North Dakota in Grand Forks County just north of the community of Arvilla. The Turtle River runs through the park and lends its name. Established in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps project, the park offers camping, cross-country skiiing, fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. In fall, the heavily wooded park turns into a wonderful display of color.

Cross Ranch State Park

Located in central North Dakota along the Missouri River, this 589-acre parcel of land offers hiking, boating, canoeing, cabins, and camping. The woods that run along the river bottom are awash with color by October.

Don’t Let Motion Sickness Interfere with Your RV Vacation

No, your camper is not a boat, but it does move and for some people (roughly 33 percent of the population) that means the possibility of experiencing motion sickness. The beauty of an RV is stopping when and where you want, especially handy for those with a tendency to get “car sick.” You’ve just bought that new rig from you Capital RV Center. Learn how to minimize the symptoms so you can get out on the highway and really enjoy it.

What Causes Motion Sickness?

Some people have difficulty with the motion associated with travel. Their brains do not correctly process the visual messages sent by landscapes moving past the windshield while the body is in reality sitting still. The confusion causes those prone to motion sickness to get dizzy when they are moving and/or doing something else while traveling down the road. If the motion continues the sufferer experiences nausea along with various degrees of fatigue. The symptoms do not subside until the motion stops.

How to Avoid or Minimize Motion Sickness

The easiest way to avoid or minimize motion sickness is to pay attention to the trip. Don’t move around on the rig, just stay seated and comfortable and enjoy the scenery. Reading is not advised; in fact it is one of the worst things to do if you have a tendency to motion sickness. The bouncing around of the book and the words don’t help.

If you are on an extended road trip it’s kind of hard to keep from bringing your favorite books or games so you might want to consider taking Dramamine. This over the counter medicine comes in several varieties, drowsy and non-drowsy. Some people get motion sickness if they sleep while traveling through the night, a good time to use the drowsy variety.

If symptoms appear while traveling, the best thing to do, if no medication is available, is to just pull over and stop for awhile. Take a nap. A wet cloth placed on the face also helps control the symptoms. If you must keep traveling, try and sleep. But, this is your road trip. Adding an extra night to help stabilize your “RV legs” will make it much more enjoyable.

Motion Sickness and Pets

Dogs are also susceptible to motion sickness. They have no way of telling you they aren’t feeling well so your first sign of trouble is usually vomiting. If your pet is not well-traveled, especially in an RV, start with a short day trip, taking frequent breaks and potty stops along the way. Take someone along with you to monitor your pet on the drive. Next try a longer trip, maybe an overnighter or weekend campout. The idea is to get your pet used to the motion and the RV itself. Being familiar with the environment will decrease your pet’s stress level and helps to minimize or eliminate motion sickness. This type of RV familiarization also works well with cats.

If your dog is well behaved, you may consider letting him roam free in the RV. They can find a spot that makes them comfortable. Many dogs are happy as long as they have a window to look out of. This doesn’t work well for cats, which are less likely to get motion sickness anyway. It’s best to keep them crated while traveling. The last thing you want is a ten-pound fur-ball with claws landing in your lap at the wrong mom

You can do so much more than empty a can of food into a pot and heat it up. You have the ability to go gourmet in your galley – and we can show you how with mouth-watering recipes posted all of the time.

RV Crab Cakes

  • 1.5 t Old Bay Seasoning
  • 2 T biscuit baking mix
  • 1 T dried parsley
  • 2 T mayo
  • 1 T mustard
  • 1 egg beaten
  • ¼ t Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • 2 qt vegetable oil for frying

2. Gently mix crab meat in.

3. Form mixture into 6 or 8 balls.

4. Heal 1 inch of vegetable oil into a large skillet at 365 degrees. Place crab cakes in and flatten with a spatula. After 3 minutes, flip the crab cake, or until browned.
